Europe at the Point of Sale – Card transactions in the EU 27

The introduction of mobile card acceptance solutions throughout Europe has surely been one of the major movements of 2012 to date. In order to learn about the receptiveness of certain countries for these solutions, the guys from our mobile payment partner payworks investigated the consumer behavior at the Point of Sale. They specifically looked at the metrics describing the usage of credit or debit cards at the Point of Sale in each of the EU 27 countries. What they found was a very interesting read for us and gave us a better understanding of the differences between various markets in Europe. You find some of the major findings below.
