PAY.ON sponsors the first mPOS Hackathon hosted by payworks and indoo.rs. The event will take place on 19 and 20 February 2014 in Berlin at Europe’s leading payment conference, the Merchant Payments Ecosystem (MPE). The mPOS Hackathon will give app developers and designers the opportunity to develop new, creative ways to pay at the mobile point-of-sale.

The mPOS Hackathon
During the mPOS Hackathon programmers and designers will get together in teams of four to build some innovative mPOS prototypes on top of the payworks and indoo.rs’ SDKs. The results of the 24-hour programming marathon will be presented to the conference attendees. The best prototype will be selected by a top-class jury and rewarded with attractive hardware prizes. During the event, there will be live coverage on Twitter and Facebook via the hashtag #mPOSHack.

PAY.ON at the MPE
The Merchant Payments Ecosystem (MPE) is the biggest payment acceptance event in Europe, with more than 450 participating companies, 70 speakers and 30 exhibitors. The scope of the event is very international, attended not only by European payment experts but increasingly by acquirers, independent sales organizations and payment service providers from the US and Asia.

PAY.ON has been a contributor and attendee to the MPE for several years now. This year PAY.ON will be part of the MPE Advisory Board, and its CEO, Markus Rinderer, will make a speech giving an overview of market and technology challenges payment providers and merchants face today, accepting and processing payments from various channels. Additionally, PAY.ON is proud to support the mPOS Hackathon organized by payworks and indoo.rs.

The MPE, held every year, is a very exciting event and a great place to discuss the future of the payment ecosystem with key players from all over the world. We are very much looking forward to this year’s event and, of course, we are excited to see the outcome of the first mPOS Hackathon!
